The social effects of external migration in Yemeni women field study on a sample of migrant wives in Lahj province/ Yafa Directorate

The study aimed to identify the social effects of the migration of the head of the external family in Yemeni women, and the researchers developed questions for the study reflecting the objectives of the study, and relied on the descriptive analytical method and the study tool (questionnaire), and applied the questionnaire to a sample of (40) single immigrant wives in the Directorate of Yafa in Lahj governorate in 2021 (The study included a theoretical framework, including concepts related to it (Revenge, migration, external migration), then the motives of external migration have social effects, as well as their social effects on women, as included in previous studies, and the researchers used the statistical program (spss) to analyze the data, and approach the interpretation of the results.
The study concluded a number of results that showed positive economic motives for the migration of the head of the family, with an average calculation (41.4) more than negative with an average account (46.3) and the biggest positive motivation was the desire to improve the economic level of the family, and the desire of the head of the family to get regular work in which he rented monthly, ensuring the stability of the family The study showed that there are social effects of the migration of the head of household, and the positive effects of the migration of the head of the external family in women, with an average account (6.3), have had more impact than the effects on women. The biggest positive impact was to improve the level of their own affairs, the living conditions of the family, then the independence of the wife to manage the family affairs, the non-intervention of the husband's family, and the involvement of the children of the mother in their own affairs; In the family, the lack of family stability and the study reached recommendations, the most important of which is to raise awareness among members of society about the dangers of the phenomenon of migration on the wife and children, especially since this phenomenon affects the family entity and carries additional burdens on women as a result of the migration of the head of the family, and the provision of suitable employment opportunities for the unemployed according to their abilities, competences, skills and appropriate salaries.
