The intellectual heritage of Hashem bin Yahya al-Shami (1087-1158 AH / 1676-1745 AD)

The aim of this research is to present and study the intellectual heritage of Hashim Bin Yahya Al-Shami, the Yemeni Scholar. His available books, letters, and researches which have been collected are a kind of heterogeneous science. All of them are still records and, to the best of the researcher's knowledge, were not studied. This research could be considered a unique addition to the intellect of this nation and to its cultural background. The researcher also collected Al-Shami's poems which have numeral intentions and various purposes. The presentation and study of that intellect was introduced by an account of its most important features represented in the Al-Shami's approach. Then it was thoroughly presented and studied. The researcher used the descriptive, and the critical –synthetic-analytical method in both the presentation and the study. In the discussion of some of the issues included in that heritage, he used the comparative method. The research is concluded with a plenty of results related to the features of the approach of that scholar and his invaluable intellectual heritage.
