Montage is one of the most prominent cinematic techniques whose contemporary modernist perspectives have contributed to its borrowing and adaptation across various creative fields, with poetry being one of the foremost. This is due to its capacity to renew the structure of the poetic text and reconstruct its artistic and semantic values.
Accordingly, this study investigates the modes through which Mohammed Hussein Haitham employs montage by examining the use of numbers and numerals within a compositional framework based on the coherence of its components and the sequential arrangement of its scenes through visual narration and creative montage. The study identifies three principal forms of the numerical narrative montage: ascending numerical narrative montage, descending numerical narrative montage, and independent numerical narrative montage.
The study adopts a structural analytical approach inspired by semiotic and cinematic mechanisms for examining literary texts in order to uncover their structural values and explore their semantic depths and profound suggestive dimensions. The findings reveal that the poet possesses a distinctly cinematic sensibility, enabling him to present his concerns through a symbolic modernist style. The numerical narrative montage effectively highlights the negative and crisis-ridden phenomena of contemporary life, while its contextual organization reflects the poet's determination to transcend them and advocates their correction, emphasizing their negativity and the necessity of overcoming and transcending them.
