Family Care for Children Yemeni Society: A Field Study of a Sample of Families in Aden Governorate

Abstract

The study aims to identify the extent of the existence of family care for children between (6-12) years in Yemeni society in the social, living, psychological, health and educational fields, and the presence of statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05), which is attributed to the independent variables. The researcher has put questions that represent the objectives for the study. The study has relied on the descriptive analytical approach. The study tools are questionnaire, interview and observation. The questionnaire was applied to a sample of (100) families in Aden Governorate in the year 2020. The study has included a theoretical framework that included the concepts of (care, social care, family care, and child). The researcher has used the statistical program (SPSS) to analyze the data. The study has concluded that the best family care that children get from their families in Yemeni society is in the psychological field with a high degree of the largest value of the mean (2.605), followed by the social field in a high degree with a value of the mean (2.555). Then in the health field, it is with a high degree with a value of the general mean (2.49). Then the educational field is with the mean (2.275). The least general family care obtained in the living field is with a weak degree with a value of the mean (1.915). There are statistically significant differences according to the variables of gender and educational level regarding the family care that children receive in the social and psychological fields. Moreover, there is a significant difference regarding the living area according to the educational level, and according to the categories of the number of children. So, there are significant differences in the fields of health and the general average, and there are no statistical significant differences according to the variables of age groups and work status in all fields of the study and the rest of the comparisons.
