Job Satisfaction and its Impact on Achieving the Quality of Health Service in Government Hospitals (Case study On Al-Thawrah General Hospital – Taiz)

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the impact of job satisfaction
 and its different dimensions on the quality of health services provided in Al-Thawra General Hospital in Taiz, from the viewpoints of hospital employees with their various occupations, and patients frequented the hospital. The study population consisted of (431) male and female employees, and the number of patients attending the hospital in 2021, A stratified random sample of (310) individuals was selected, (130) individuals were employees in Al_Thawra General Hospital in Taiz in various jobs, and (180) individuals were patients who frequented the hospital. Two questionnaires were distributed, the first one was on job satisfaction directed to hospitals' employees in their various jobs, and the second one was on the quality of health services directed to patients who frequented the Al_Thawra. After verifying the validity and reliability of the two questionnaires, the analytical descriptive approach was used. To achieve the objectives of the study and to test the hypotheses, the (IBM SPSS V.24) program was used, as well as from the modern programs (IBM Amos V.24).

The study concluded that there is an impact of job satisfaction in all its dimensions on the quality of health services provided to patients from the perspectives of the hospitals' employees in their various jobs and patients who frequented the hospital. It was also found that the level of employees' evaluation of job satisfaction was medium, and similarly, the level of patients' evaluation of the quality of health services was also medium.

 In the light of this result, the study recommended the following, improving the living situations of workers, developing an incentives and rewards system, implementing training courses, sending the workers to study abroad, distributing internal grants fairly, reinforcing their awareness about the concept, objectives, and dimensions of the quality of health services, consolidate the strengths of the hospital.
